Simple lasagna dish, with ingredients that can be found at a common American grocery store. Serves 4 meals on its own, or 6 with sides.
This recipe will fit a Pyrex 7x11x1.7″, 2.2qt/2L baking dish.
You will need:
- Dry lasagna noodles. “Columbia” brand from Dollar Tree with 18 sheets will make two dishes.
Pre-prepare these mixtures:
- 1qt/950g of pasta sauce or bolognese
One bowl of the following ingredients, mixed:
- 15oz Ricotta cheese
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Glug of olive oil
- 1 egg
One bowl of the following ingredients, mixed:
- 8oz shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 375F/190C
Layer your dish like so. This list is sorted top to bottom, to reflect how the layers should look in practice, so follow it backwards.
- 1/3 mozzarella mix (sprinkled on top)
- 1/4 of sauce
- 1/3 ricotta mix
- 1 layer of Lasagna noodles
- 1/4 of sauce
- 1/3 mozzarella mix
- 1/3 ricotta mix
- 1 layer of Lasagna noodles
- 1/4 of sauce
- 1/3 mozzarella mix
- 1/3 ricotta mix
- 1 layer of Lasagna noodles
- 1/4 of sauce (bare layer on the bottom)
Cover the dish in foil, then bake for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil, bake for another 30-35 minutes
Let cool for a few minutes, then serve.
