Simple recipe for soy sauce eggs, suitable for a soup topping. This recipe will prepare a dozen soft-boiled eggs in a mason jar.

Ingredients

  • 12 cold eggs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • Optional:
    • Garlic
    • Ginger
    • Chili
  • Ice water

Process

  1. Bring water in a pot (at least 5qt) to a boil.
  2. Gently lower in eggs, boil for 6.5-7 minutes.
  3. Mix other ingredients (in a mason jar)
  4. Shock eggs in ice water, allow to cool.
  5. Peel eggs, place into container with marinade mix, seal.
  6. Peak flavor after two days.
